Becoming a Board Approved Supervisor
In order to become a Board Approved Supervisor you must: A. Complete a 3 hour graduate psychology course in supervision. 1. Complete at least 2 years of psychology practice from the date you were licensed. 2. Practice psychology ethically and not commit ethical violations. B. Complete the following: 1. Complete at least 2 years of psychology practice from the date you were licensed. 2. Practice psychology ethically and not commit ethical violations. 3. Complete at least 14 hours of Board approved supervision training that is provided by a licensed psychologist, is specifically on supervision of psychologists and APA approved. 4. Submit documentation of such training and receive Board approval of it. 5. Study the Supervision Contract and Demonstrable Competency Form. 6. Submit a letter in which you attest that you have completed step 5 and that you shall meet all of your responsibilities described in the Supervision Contract when you initiate the supervision process. 7. If the Board determines that you have successfully completed steps 1 through 6, it will send you a letter approving you as a Board Approved Supervisor. 8. Prior to initiating supervision, after receipt of the notification approving supervisor status, a completed Supervision Contract must be submitted to, and approved by, the Board.
